Welcome

After a sexual assault, you have many options. Understanding those options and choosing which are best for you is often confusing. The process can feel overwhelming, complicated, and unwelcoming. You are not alone. Information, support, and resources are available to help you find your path to healing and justice.

On this website, you will find the following:

If you need to talk to someone immediately, 24-hour hotlines staffed by knowledgeable, trained counselors are available throughout the state. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services also maintains a complete list of rape crisis centers with their contact information, including hotline numbers.

Surviverape.org was created after a formal analysis of resources available to survivors of sexual assault showed that Internet-based searches for information often delivered information that was incorrect, inappropriate, and/or misleading. The content on this website was created by an advisory committee of organizations that include community-based service providers and city, county, and state agencies. The website is supported with a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice.
